Description:
Throughout time both the shores of the Hawaiian Islands and the waters along the Eastern Seaboard of the United States have been home to the Honu (pronounced hoe-new) or sea turtle. Owners David Tunney, brother of restaurateur John J. Tunney lll, and John Rieger, offer a cuisine representative of the two cultures under the vibrant umbrella of Blue Honu restaurant. In legends, the sea turtle often represented creation, longevity and wisdom. We too strive to provide our guests with the ultimate dining experience inspired by creative cuisine, blessed with the success of longevity and anchored by the wisdom that every visitor should enjoy their food, family and friends in a unique and magical environment. We vigorously pursue this environment of excellence within our establishments. Our goal is to affect each and every individual that experiences any one of our properties in the most positive way through anticipatory vision, comfort, showmanship, and most of all, genuine care. From the Hawaiian fusion menu to the oyster bar, from the fireside lounge to the unmatched libations, Hungtingtion's Blue Honu restaurant in Suffolk County Long Island redefines the dining experience.

3/20/2007 simply stellar
I had dinner at Blue honu for the first time and it was great. The service was professional yet friendly.

11/12/2006 not good anymore
This place WAS my favorite restaurant in Huntington but recently (August 2006) the chef changed and the food was awful. The Mahi Mahi tasted like leather and was dry. The Tuna Steak had no taste. Beware, the place has changed.

4/4/2006 Blue Honu is great all around!
I went to Blue Honu after reading several good reviews and I loved everything about the place. For one, the atmosphere and vibe is really cool and trendy. A bit on the loud side which I don't mind at all. I went on a busy Saturday and we were lucky to be seated in only 20 mins. My guests and I loved the food. All their dishes were so good. And try their famous pineapple martinis. It's a must! I'll be going back to Blue Honu

12/20/2005 Try something new!
The Blue Honu is an excellent place to try something new. They offer great Hawaiian food and it’s always fun to try something new or unexpected. They have large portions making it a great value for the price. They even offer complimentary dessert and full refund if you're not satisfied with your meal.
