HARBORMEN CHORUS LUNCHEON

The Harbormen Chorus had their holiday luncheon at Il Porto Bello's last October and the guys are still raving about it. Peter and Mike went out of their way to prepare an outstanding meal at a price we could all afford. We had over 40 people at the luncheon and the tables were set up so it was very cozy. The kids knocked themselves our waiting and bussing the group. My wife and I have going this restaurant for over 20 years and have never had a bad meal, that is why I recommended the place for our chorus party. I just called Peter and reserved the place for luncheon again this year and the chorus is very pleased that we are going. I can recommend this restaurant to anyone who want genuine Italian food and very reasonable price.

Called Port Jeff Sta. restaurant a day ahead to set up dinner for 17 people. Ordered pies - mushroom, sicilian, sausage, plain,& grandma which came to 32 slices. I was told I was ordering too much. 34 slices is 2 per person. Also was ordering large salads, Greek etc. was going to order sodas & wine and possibly some people would want a dinner when they got there. Was told we couldn't eat in dining room but would have to sit in the front in the small booths. We had a dinner like this there last year and our bill came to over $200 with less people. Apparently Il Porto Bello doesn't want our business. We are a large surgery practice and order from the neighborhood restaurants but we will never order from here. So we took our business to Setauket Pasteria and they were more than happy to accomodate us for dinner in their dining room and did not feel we were ordering "too many" pies at 2 slices per person.
